4 SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION CONTAINMENT VENT / PURGE VALVE OPERATION HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION
. DOCKET.NO. 50-354-Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G).hereby transmits supplemental information in support of the containment vent / purge valve operation Technical Specification change request for Hope
. Creek Generating Station (HCGS), Facility Operating License NPF-57.
This transmittal supercedes a previous submittal dated February 20, 1987 and addresses a variety of concerns expressed by members of the NRC staff regarding a detinitive schedule for installation of blowout panels in the Containment Prepurge Cleanup System (CPCS).
In a letter from Mr. C. A. McNeill, Jr.
(PSE&G)-to Ms. E. Adensam (NRC) dated November 21, 1986, PSE&G stated that the CPCS ductwork would be installed within 120 days cd approval of'the Containment Vent / Purge Valve Operation i
Technical Specification change.
After further consideration, PSE&G withdraws this schedular request and instead commits to install all required station modifications, including CPCS
-ductwork changes, prior to implementation of the Technical
-Specification revisions for Containment Vent / Purge Valve 4
Operation.
Therefore, the Inserts for Enclosure 1 and all of of the referenced submittal have been appropriately revised and attached to this transmittal.
This transmittal supplements previous submittals from Mr. C. A.
- McNeill, ihr. to Ms. E. Adensam dated June 4, 1986, October 6, 1986, November 21, 1986 and December 18, 1986 and supercedes a

similar submittal dated February 20, 1987.
This transmittal does

-not affect the determination that the requested purge / vent changes do not involve a significant hazards consideration (Ref:
November 21, 1986 submittal) as the attached changes are schedular in nature.
