Dear Ms. Jackson:

9 My name is Malorie Salaver. I am a resident of East Hampton Town. I am writing in concern about the reopening of Millstone III (The nuclear reactor in Connecticut). The reason it concerns me is because it is located 11 short miles away from where I live.

Milstone III was shutdown for two years because of 1,200 safety violations. Worse than that they are still shutting it down on and off as recently as 3 to 4 weeks ago. Ifit is being shutdown so much because it is hazardous to our health or is endangering us in some way then don't you think it should be shutdown permanently? Also if anything ever went wrong with the reactor and we had to evacuate the island we wouldn't be able to.

Long island citizens have no foolproof way of getting off the island to safety.

I believe Millstone III should be permanently shutdown because

'it endangers the lives of thousands of people every day. Any small accident can turn into a monumental catastrophe. The Three Mile accident was caused by a valve problem. Millstone III has had many valve problems in the past and even some quite recently. It's a horrible feeling knowing that your life is in danger every day.

l I also have a concern that everyone will get stuck on the island

because we don't have an evacuation plan. Most people have some sort of transportation unit but the problem is the lack of space we have for them all.

The roads will not be big enough to fit all those cars without having some 9903260041 990322 l PDR ADOCK 05000245 H PDR

sort of accident. The boats only have so much room in the water. There also isn't enough room in the sky for too many planes. Andjust think of all the people that would diejust trying to get off the island.

Mow that you've heard my concerns please consider the following. If Millstone III stays open it endangers thousands of peoples lives every day with it's thousands of safety violations and giving us no way of escaping off of the island. Please remember that there are probably hundreds more that think as I do. And even more who don't even know their lives are endanger and should. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely, bGm I
