Supplement 4 of the VEGP Safety Evaluation Report (7.3.3.3.) identified that the Vogtle Unit 2 Technical Specifications will contain test requirements which reflect the status of the circuit modifications to the Unit 2 slave relays similar to the modifications which were completed for Unit 1.
The potentially undetectable failure in the on-line test circuitry for the master and slave relays in the engineered safeguards system was originally identified to you on August 6, 1982 (NS-EPR-2638) by Westinghouse.
Subsequently, on January 17, 1984 Westinghouse transmitted letter NS-EPR-2877 describing the minor wiring modifications required to assure that circuit l
failure was easily detectable.

The wiring modifications identified in Attachment 2 of NS-EPR-2877 were incorporated into the VEGP Unit 2 design via FECO-N-132-BF which reflected Westinghouse Field Change Notice GBEM-10554. The physical change was completed on January 30, 1987.
l In accordance with the above discussion, please reflect quarterly testing of tne slave relays in the NRC draf t of the Vogtle Unit 2 Technical Specification and revise the Vogtle SER as appropriate.
