Dear Sir or Madam:
I am a resident at the town of East Ilampton Long Island. I am very concerned about the nuclear power plant is Connecticut. I don't really think its safe and I think it should be shut down. This power plant has been shut down several. The issue that concerns me the most is that is that they have no escape plan for us.
The reason why the escape plan concerns me the most is because this nuclear reactor is only fifteen miles away from us. They only have a plan for the people within ten miles and not even that one works right. Nudear meltdowns have been proven to effect up to a hundred thousand miles. You really don't need a nuclear meltdown to kill a couple of million people, but I think that it would be nice to have one just in case. Specially sense they have a forty-six percent chance ofmeltdown.
Millstone has been previously because of several safety violations, such as leaking valves. Even after a one billion-dollar overhaul to get the reactor back on line it had five Emergency shutdowns in only five moths. This I heard on the Channel twelve news. The radioactive waste dumped then flows into our rivers and mutates our fishes, clams, oysters etc. This could really effect our economy.
I want this power plant to be shut down now!!.The nuclear company is making a lot of money of us. I really don't have a problem against that as long as they are not killing. The problem is that they are killing us. I really don't think you can put a price on a human life none the less thousands ofinnocent people.
