March 11,1999 316 Accabonac rd East Hampton N.Y Ms. Shirley Jackson Chairman NRC 11555 Rockville Pike Rockville, Maryland 20852 I am a concerned resident of East Ilampton N.Y. and I think that Millstone should be shut down. The NRC owns the millstone power plants. Millstone power plant three was shut down for two years for a thousand safety violations, it has also been shut down for meltdowms and there is no evacuation plan.
The power plant was shut down because it had a thousand safety violations. The chemicals were not been treated correctly, The valves were not in good condition, this could mean that the radioactive activity could have escaped from the plant or a melt down could have happened.
Millstone power plant is only eleven miles away from East IIampton and with all of the safety violations it occurs to me that it will not take long for a tragedy to occur, a tragedy that could end thousands maybe even millions oflives. There is no way out of this island in case of an emergency such as a nuclear meltdowm.
I want this power plant to be shut down before innocent people get hurt or even killed by means of cancer caused by radiation which come from these power plants, before this ends up in Sincerely, 9903250303 990322
