Detroit Edison to NRC Letter, " Revised Process Control Program", EF2-72035, dated December 18, 1984
Subject:
Waste Oil Disposal Reference 2 notified the NRC that Fermi 2 would store potentially radioactive oil on site until a study had been completed to identify the optimum method for solidification and disposal of this waste oil.
This letter defines our plan in accordance with this commitment.
The previously identified "potentially radioactive waste oil" disposal plan is comprised of two elements:
non-radioactive and radioactive waste oil.
Non-radioactive waste oil is disposed of in accordance with Fermi 2's non-radioactive waste procedure.
Radioactive waste oil will be disposed of as noted below.
Detroit Edison presently has no radioactive waste oil at Fermi 2.
When Detroit Edison has determined the optimum method for solidification and disposal of radioactive waste oil, Detroit Edison will notify the NRC in the semi-annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report in accordance witn Section 6.13 of the Fermi 2 Technical Specifications.
