Docket No. STN 50-482 Subj:

Response to Bulletin 86-02 Ge ntleme n:

The purpose of this le t te r is to provide a response for Wolf Creek Gene ra ting Station (WCGS),

Unit No.

I to the subject Bulletin which was addressed to all power reactor facilities holding an operating license or a

construction permit.

The Bulletin requests licensees to determine whether or not they have any Series 102 or 103 dif fe rent ial pressure switches supplied by SOR, Incorporated (formerly Static "0" Ring Pressure Switch Company ),

installed as electrical e quipme nt important to sa fe ty.

The Bulle t in also requests licensees that have Series 102 and 103 dif ferential pressure switches to take certain actions to assure that system operation is reliable.

Since the receipt of this Bulletin, Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) has initiated an extensive search to determine if there are any Series 102 or 103 SOR dif ferential pressure switches installed at WCGS.

During this effort KG6E has not identified any Series 102 or 103 switches on site and does not expect to identify any of these switches.

Howe ve r, the effort is continuing to verify that no SOR Series 102 or 103 switches are installed at WCCS.

If any Series 102 or 103 switches are f ound, KG&E will inf orm you and take the actions stated in Bulletin 86-02.

If you have any questions concerning this response please contact ni or Mr.

O. L. Maynard of my staff.

Very truly yours, 8608010100 860728 PDR ADOCK 05000482 G
