Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Proposed Operating License Change Request No. 116, Rev. 1 Gentlemen:
Enclosed are:
(1) Three (3) originals and thirty-seven (37) copies of an Application for Amendment to our operating license to clarify the T4 and T5 time constants provided in our previous submittal for the overtemperature er and overpower AT equations of Table 2.2-1.
(2) Forty (40) copies of documents designated Attachments A and B which set forth the change in technical specifications and its no significant hazards determination.
When the narrow range RTD's were replaced, they were evaluated against the origOv3 engineering requirements for the RTD's used for the OTAT and OPA protective functions.
It was determined that
..their time constants utilized in the trip setpoint equations would meet the origin'l Westinghouse design
- specification -for this a
protective function.
The attached revised Technical Specification Change identifies 2.0 seconds ~ as the maximum AT and Tavg filter time constants.
Post maintenance testing and RTD cross calibration performed during plant heatup following RTD replacement provides verification that the time constants and RTD accuracies are within their required values.
Based on the above tests, it was concluded that the circuit accuracy and time response characteristics satisfy the original design specification assumptions.
Since this is a
revision to a previous submittal for which an application fee has been paid, it has been determined that no fee is required.
