Assignment of Docket Number to BR-100 Shippiry Cask Project
Dear Mr. MacDonald:
I
'Ihe B&W Ebel Cocpany, a part of BaWk & Wilcox's Nuclear Power Division, f
is a contractor to the Departrent of Energy to develop a rail / barge shipping cask for transportirq spent nuclear fuel frcm reactor sites to a repository or MRS facility.
We recently briefed several members of your staff on the conceptual design of the cask, khich we have namcd the BR-100, and had a constructive meeting outlining what analytical and testing issues nocd to be highlightcd during the project to construct a good SARP.
One of the roccmaendations of your staff was to proceed in haviry a docket number assigned to the BR-100, and the purpose of this letter is to request such action. 'Ihe B&W Fuel Ccepany will be the license applicant for the BR-l 100 SARP.
All NRC fees for the review of BR-100, irclixlity SARP review, I
shculd be covered by the Memorandum of Understanding between the NRC and DOE on OCMM projects and will not be paid by the applicant.
