This letter is submitted in compliance with the requirement in 10CFR.50-64. Since funding has been approved, the following schedule is proposed for the conversion from HEU to LEU.

May 1, 1987'- Obtain date and programs, set up models, validate methods, and refine models for calculating reactor performance with new fuels.

November I, 1987 - Start metal-water study, critical size, temp-erature coefficients, and determine physics-acceptable core with new fuels.

March I, 1988 - Start thermal hydraulics on acceptable cores of the final design for new core.

May 1, 1988 - Start core and reflector physics and thermal hydraulics on final design.

July 1, 1988 - Start final Safety Analysis Report.

August 31, -1988 - Complete safety report for new core and sub- .
