Dear Dr. Murley:
The attached Revision 18 to the MASP reflects NRC amendments to regulations that establish a definite retention period for each record that an NRC licensee is required to maintain. The information was published in Federal Register /Vol. 53, No.
103/ Friday, May 27, 1988/ Rules and Regulations. The CFR parts that.
effeat security and safeguards are 50.54, conditions of License; 70.32, Conditions of Licenses: Part 73, Physical Protection of Plants and Materials, including Appendix B.
Other changes included in Revision 18 are the removal of a temporary vital area designation (Revision 17) and several editorial changes.
Details of all changes are found in Attachment 1 to this letter.
As this attached information involves a subject matter which is exempt from disclosure, it is being protected in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 73.21.
It is requested that the attachment to this letter be withheld from public disclosure and not placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
This document has been prepared following Corporate procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to ensure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
