Dear Ms. Banning:
Your letter of December 4,1934, to Mr. Davis, superintendent of schools for the School District of Springfield Township, fiontgomery County, was much clearer than your letter of flovember 15, 1934. The School District does not misunderstand the import of the agreement they have signed with the County; we sinoly misunderstood your letter.
You ask if we " guarantee" nine school busses and nine bus drivers to go to the schools indicated in your letter.
This is the first time that we have been informed that our busses have specific assignments.
flevertheless, in the event of the need to evacuate children from the Limerick area, Springfield would nake every reasonable effort to A
fulfill its comitment.
v I am sure you understand that no one can absolutely " guarantee" that drivers and busses will be available under an extreme emergency situation.
It normally would take us 45 minutes to one hour of travel time to reach the schools indicated.
If the roads are congested because of the " emergency," then there would be no guarantee that our vehicles could reach their assigned destinations. If there is an adequate warning period and the roads are relatively clear, we will.make every attempt to complete our obligation.
