Director, Division of Safeguards Material Transfer SG Lice'nsing Branch U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C. 20555 ATTENTION:
Mr. Charles Hillman
Dear Sir:
By letter dated June 20, 1984, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved the use of a route for shipments of spent fuel from the West Valley facility, in West Valley, New York, to the Point Beach Station of Wisconsin Electric.
The Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation desires to use the New York portion of this previously approved route to make six (6) shipments of spent fuel and one (1) shipment of high level waste to the Battelle Columbus Laboratories facility at West Jefferson, Ohio.
The remaining routing, through Pennsylvania to West Jefferson, Ohio, would follow the route used in October,1985 to make two (2) shipments from West Valley to Battelle.
The original route across N.Y. 39 between the West Valley facility and I-90 in New York cannot be used due to the repair of a bridge in Gowanda, New York.
The complete route would be as follows:
New York NFS Facility North to Schwartz Road Schwartz Road West to U.S. 219 U.S. 219 North to N.Y. 39 N.Y. 39 West to U.S. 62 U.S. 62 North to the Eden-Evans Center Road Eden-Evans Center Road West to I-90 (N.Y. Thruway)
