Inspection at GA Technologies, Inc.

This refers to a routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs. B. L. Brock and J. F. Pang of this office March 17-21, 1986, of activities authorized by NRC License No. SNM-696 and to the discussion of our findings held with you and members of the staff at the conclusion of the inspection. This also includes that part of the inspection in which Mr. Brock was accompanied by Mr.

N. Ketzlach of our Washington office from March 31 - April 2, 1986.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the incpection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.

During this inspection, it was found that one of your activities appeared to be in violation of NRC requirements. The item and reference to the pertinent requirement is listed in Appendix A to this letter. The item has been categorized into a severity level as_ described in the NRC Enforcement Policy 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C. Your response to this Notice is to be submitted in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, as stated in Appendix A, Notice of Violation.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
