Haddam Neck Plant Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos.1,2 and 3 Reporting of Changes to the Quality Assurance Program Proposed Revision 8 to the Northeast Utilities Quality Assurance Program Topical Report in accordance w;th 10CFR50.54(a)(3), transmitted herewith are three (3) copies of proposed Revision 8 of the Northeast Utilities Quality Assurance Frogram (NUQAP) Topical Report (Attachment il) submitted for your review and approval. Proposed changes to the Topical Report are indicated by a vertical line in the right-hand margin of the text. The reason and basis for each change are detailed in Attachrnent I which is arranged in a sequence which comcides with the Topical Report sections.
The changes included in proposed Revision 8 of the NUQAP Topical Report do reduce commitments contained in our previously accepted quality assurance program description and are submitted for your approval prior to implementation. This proposed revision of the NUQAP Topical Report, although reducing previously accepted commitments, continues to satisfy the criteria of 10CFR30 Appendix B.
Please note that the draf t NUQAP Topical Report is shown as Revision 8 without a date. This draf t will be issued as Revision 8 and dated the same as the effective date of approval when we receive it, or sixty (60) days following this submittal as prescribed in 50.54(a)(3)(iv).
Please be advised that this submittal is in addition to the annual submittal of quality assurance program changes required by 10CFR$0.54(a)(3).
Northeast Utilities will be submitting additional quality assurance program changes during June of this year.
