Dear Mr. Muller:
This letter transmits the Fire Protection Program Report for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Unit Nos. 2 and 3 pursuant to the referenced Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) No.
86-07.
The CAL imposed the following actions relating to the completion of the subject report:
1.
Complete the Appendix R Safe Shutdown confirmatory program on or before September 30, 1986.
2.
Upon completion of the program, provide the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Region I a copy of the Fire Protection Evaluation Report (FPER) which will contain the results of the subject study.
3.
Promptly inform Region I by telephone, followed by a written report, whenever a violation of Appendix R, III G or J requirements has been identified during 0(
implementation of the confirmatory program.

The Fire Protection Program Report, as submitted, reflects the status of the plant as it will be following completion of modifications to correct design deficiencies identified during the confirmatory program.
These deficiencies are being reported to Region I in accordance with item (3)~of the' CAL.
The title of the report has been changed to " Fire Protection Program" to establish consistency with the nomenclature used in the License Condition requested by Generic Letter 86-10.
A license amendment application requesting incorporation of the License Condition into the Operating License will be submitted pursuant to the schedule in Generic Letter 86-10.
