SEPTEMBER 5, 1986 COMMIS SIdN MEETING ON FULL POWER OPERATING LICENSE FOR PERRY-1 By order dated April 18, 1986 (CLI-86-07), the Commission vacated the Appeal Board's orders of March 20 and April 8, 1986,

, scheduling a " mini-hearing" to con' sider a February 3, 1986, motion to reopen the record of the proceeding, filed by'intervenor Ohio Citizens for Responsible Energy (OCRE), on the issue of the facilitys seismic design. The Commission announced in that order that though on pr'cedural o grounds it was reversing the Appeal Bcard's orders, it intended to give the intervenors and the applicant the opportunity, prior to any Commission deter-

, mination on a full-power license for the Perry facility, to address the Commission directly, in a public meeting, on the seismic issues raised. It further directed the.NRC staff to be prepared to discuss these assues in the same public meeting.

The Commission has now scheduled a meeting to consider the Perry Unit 1 full power operating license at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 1986. The meeting will take place in the Commis-sioners' Conference Room, 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.

(11th floor) . Pursuant to CLI-86-07, the applicant and inter-venore in the proceeding are being afforded time to present the~ir viewa. The schedule for presentations and time allotted will be as follows:

Applicant 20 minutes Intervenors 20 minutes (OCRE/ Sunflower Alliance)

NRC Staff 30 minutes Participants should confirm their intention to appear before the Commission by notifying the Secretary of the Commission, 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20555 (202/634-1410) not later than close of business Wednesday, September 3, 1986.
