DOCKETS 50-266 AND 50-301 USE OF ENERGY ABSORBERS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT We have been informed by Mr. Colburn of your staff that NRC review of the use of energy absorbers at Point Beach Nuclear Plant cannot proceed unless an application fee pursuant to 10 CFR 170 is submitted to the Commission.
Accordingly, we have provided herewith a check in the amount of $150 and request that your review of information submitted with our May 13, 1986 letter regarding the utilization of energy absorbers in place of selected safety-related snubbers proceed to completion.
As further discussed with Mr. Colburn, we are available to discuss this topic with the NRC staff and your contractors at your convenience.
