Dear Ms. Doolittle,
I am writing to invite you to spend a weekend at our home in Newburyport, Massachusetts, a city within the ten-mile planning zone around Seabrook nuclear plant, so that'you will have first-hand knowledge of conditions here and so that you will have an opportunity to meet, informally concerned citizens who oppose the licensing of Seabrook.
According to yesterday'= ne ter. Clche, you otated i.nar, one pnssible outcome of the NHC's evaluation of the study for the Seabrook nuclear plant could be a proposal to shrink the-10-mile emergency planning zone around Seabrook.
Following the Chernobyl' accident, the citizens of New Hampshire and Massachusetts feel the emergency planning zone should be-extended to forty miles, certainly not reduced.
As you are aware,' nuclear plants have " limited liability".
To the people who,_se health could be impaired and whose homes could become uninhabitable and whose jobs could be eliminated in the event of a nuclear accident, " limited liability"is a frightening concept. Nobody wants to be n a refugee.
