SUBJECT:
Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Unit No. 2; Docket No. 50-313 Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program for Calvert Cliffs Unit No. 2, Analysis of 263 Capsule Gentlemen:
Four copies of the subject analysis, done by Southwest Research Institute, are transmitted herewith as required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix H.
The analysis shows that the heatup and cooldown curves in the Technical Specifications for Unit No. 2 are conservative through 16 Effective Full Power Years of operation. In addition, the analysis concludes that Calvert Cliffs Unit No. 2 vessel core beltline region materials will retain sufficient toughness to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix G throughout the design life of the unit.
Should you have questions concerning the analysis, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
Very truly yours, M
