P.nclosed please find the Annual Operating Report for the Penn State Breareale Reactor (PSI 3R). This report covers the period from July 1,1996 through June 30,1997, as required by technical specifications require nent 6.6.1. Also included are any changes applicable to 10 CFR 50.59.
A change was made to the SAR, Chapter IV, during the reporting period to delete a reference to a fission product monitor that has not been in service for some time. The major reference to this monitor was removed in 1991, but anot .er section of Chapter IV still made reference to it. Chapter IV of the SAR was refonnatted ard is submitted in its entirety.
A copy of the Forty Second Annual Progress Report of the Penn State Radiation Science and
!!ngineering Center is included as supplementary infomtation.
