- Public Workshop: Demonstrating Compliance With the Radiological Criteria for License Termination-Methods to Conduct a Final Status Survey and Dose Modeling AGENCY: Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

l ACTION: Notice e,* workshop.

SUMMARY

The NRC will hold a public wori: shop in Rockville, Maryland to receive input from licensees and the public on working papers on

" Methods to Conduct a Final Status Survey," and " Dose Modeling."

- These working papers are being developed as part of a future Regulatory Guide. The Regulatory Guide is being written to describe an acceptalle method to comply with the NRC's recent final rule on Radiological Criteria for License Termination (62 FR 39058; July 21,1TJ). These -

working papers have received only limited NRC staff aew or approval.

The purpose of the workshop is to obtain commenta, suggestions, and information from the putile on the approach in th $ working papers so that a better Regulatory Guide can be developed. All interested licensees and members of the puNic are invited to attend this -

= workshop.

DATES: The workshop will be held on February 18 and 19,1998, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at about 5 p.m. There is no pre-registration.

Interested parties, unable to attend the workshop, are encouraged to provide written comments by March 13,1998.

ADDRESSES: The public workshop will be held in the NRC's auditorium at Two White Flint North,11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland.

Visitor parking around the NRC building is limited; however, the workshop site is located adjacent to the White Flint Station on the Metro Red Line. A Panscript of this workshop will be available for
