Pacific Nuclear Systems, Incorporated July 30, 1986 Nuclear Packaging, Incorporated ATTN: Mr. David F. Jones Chairman / President 1010 South 336th Street Federal Way, Washington 98003 Gentlemen:

NRC Inspection Report No. 99901047/86-01, dated June 20, 1986, stated that Nuclear Packaging, Incorporated (NUPAC) was required to submit a response to that report within 30 days and that this response time could be extended for good cause shown. During the NRC inspection at NUPAC conducted June 21-26, 1986, this time requirenent was discussed with NUPAC personnel. Specifically, the second NRC inspection was conducted to review unresolved items identified during the previous inspection and discussed in Inspection Report No. 86-01.

Based upon these discussions, the time allowed for NUPAC to respond to Inspec-tion Report No. 86-01 has been extended.

Your response to that report may be combined with your response to the inspection report for the NRC inspection performed June 21-26, 1986, at your facilities in Federal Way, WA.
