This letter provides supplementary information related to clos"re of Generic Letter 89-10 (Ref.1). In addition, it addresses issues raisej during NRC Inspection 9711 concerning .

data were utilized to ensure that MOVs covered by the program will provide the appropriate /
response under design basis conditions. Discussions with the NRC during the MOV close- , D I
out inspection confirm the EPRI MOV Performance Predictien' Methodology (PPM) could provide bounding estimates of thrust requirements for MOVs that could not be acceptably tested (i.e., non testable MOVs) at design basis conditions.
