TOLEDO EDISON Docket No. 50-346 JOE WILUAMS. JR.

sena va m. son au-(419}249 2300 License No. NPF-3 (4t99435223 Serial No. 1-655 July 28, 1986 Mr. James G. Keppler Regional Administrator, Region III United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, IL 60137

Dear Mr. Keppler:

Toledo Edison has received IE Bulletin (IEB) No. 86-02, Static "0" Ring Differential Pressure Switches, (Log 1-1424) and provides the following information.

The cited IEB concerned erratic behavior of Static "O" Ring (SOR) differential pressure switches, Models 102 and 103. Licensees were requested to determine and report the extent to which SOR Models 102 and 103 differential pressure switches are used or are planned to be installed.

Specific applications to be investigated were uses as electrical equipment important to safety as defined in 10 CFR 50.49(b). If any SOR Model 102 or 103 switches were found, further actions were required as described in the IEB.

Toledo 1:dison has conducted a review of appropriate plant documentation.

Documents reviewed include:

1) Instrument index, 2) past purchase orders related to 10CFR50.49(b) and safety related equipment, 3) Architect Engineer's review of design documentation, and 4) Station instrumentation data packages. This review concluded that SOR differential pressure switches Models 102 or 103 have not been used nor are they planned to be used in the future in safety related applications, including 10 CFR 50.49(b) related equipment.

Based on the results of our investigation, Toledo Edison feels no further action as specified in IEB 86-02 is necessary.
