Inspection No. 70-1252/86-02 This. letter refers to the safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. G.
C.~ Smith of this office, on March 6, 1986'in your. Washington, D.C. office. The.inspec-tion related to the NRC physical security requirements for transportation:of irradiated reactor fuel by~ sea.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspec-tion Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the in-spection consisted of a review of records and interviews with personnel.
Within the scope of this inspection,.no violations were observed.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of' Practice," Part 2, Title'10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this: letter and the enclosure will be placed in-the NRC Public Document Room.
