1.
The qualification of the modified high-pressure coolant injection (HPCI) turbine exhaust '
piping system includes the following reduction factors applied to the Mark i loads: 0.5 for SRV loading,0.7 for CO loading and 0.65 for CHUG loading. These factors are supposed to account for overconservatism in the Mark i load calculations. Provide the basis for these reduction factors, or provide NRC documentation indicating review and acceptance of these factors.
2.
The qualification of the modified HPCI turbine exhaust pipl./; system includes an amplification factor of 1.18 applied to the Mark Iloads. This is based on the ratio of the moments in the modified and the original piping configurations. The highest ratio in Appendix lli is shown to be 1.27. Provide the basis for using an amplification factor of 1.18 instead of 1.27 as a conservative bounding value.
3.
Provide the stress interaction factors for the modified HPCI turbine exhaust system based on the Mark l loads without the reduction factors, and the highest ratio of 1.27, as shown in Appendix lit.
4.
The Turbine Nonle evaluation does not include Mark i loading in the loading combinations because *the turbine noule is found to be in the region beyond the 10%
cut off point.* Provide the basis and detailed justification of this statement.
