This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated Decen'ber 31,1997 to Chairman Shirley Ann Jackson concerning the Nuclear Energy Advisory Council's (NEAC) unanimous support of the Community Decommissioning Advisory Committee (CDAC) which has been created to oversee the decommissioning of Connecticut Yankee at Haddam Neck.
NEAC'S two requests of the NRC are: (1) that the position of on site resident inspector be maintained at Haddam Neck; and (2) that an NRC representative be present at the CDAC monthly meetings. Your requests are being considered and a response will be forwarded to you shortly.
