As descril>ed in the enclosed Safety Evaluation, the staff has detemined, with: respect to Relief Request ISI-001, Revision 6.-that the requirements of the Code are impractical for the identified items and relief is granted pursuant to 10CFR'50.55a(g)(6)(1). The l
relief granted is authorized by law, will not endanger life, property, or the 4
-common defense and security, and are otherwise in the public interest, giving' due consideration to the burden upon the licensee that could result if the requirements were imposed.
This completes the review of Relief Request 151-001, Revision 6 for the first ten-year inservice inspection at Waterford Unit 3 under TAC No, M99005.

Dear Mr. Dugger:
l The staff has reviewed and evaluated the information provided by Entergy Operations, Inc. in its letter dated April 30, 1997, requesting relief from the requirements of the ASME Code,Section XI, during the first inservice inspection interval of Waterford, Unit 3.
As described in the enclosed Safety Evaluation, the staff has determined, with respect to Relief Request 151-001, Revision 6, that the requirements of the Code are impractical for the identified items and relief is granted pursuant to 10CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(1). The relief granted is authorized by law, will not endanger life, property, or the common defense and security, and are otherwise in the public interest, giving due consideratior, to the burden upon the licensee that could result if the requirements were imposed.
