INSPECTION, ENFORCEMENT AND ASSESSMENT,2:00 p.m.,

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20,1999, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on Reactor inspection, Enforcement and Assessment. The Nuclear Energy institute and the Union of Concerned Scientists also provided comments. The Commission will provide their views in voting on SECY-99-007,

" Recommendations for Reactor Oversight Process improvements." The Commission will plan to be briefed on the final product including Enforcement Guidance on March 18,1999.
