The Nebraska Low Level Radioactive Wastc Program has completed its technical review of an application for a proposed low level radioactive waste disposal facility in fioyd County, Nebraska Ecology, Inc. submitted the license application to construct, operate and close a disposal facility ne community of Butte, in north central Nebraska. As a result of this evaluation process, the LLRW Program has developed two documents which represent the results of the State's application review, the Draft EnvironmentalImpact Analysis ( and the Draft Sa/ cry Emluarmn Report (DSER). Production and distribution of the DEIA and DSER documents allow the opportunity for the public to review I) the impact to the environment and relative impacts of the Boyd County facihty compared to other alternative options and 2) fmdings of the review with regard to protection of human health, safety and the enviromnent. Prior to making a license decision, a series of two public comment penods and public hearings will be held. Public input will have a significant role in the decision-rnaking process Based on your past interest you are receiving one or both of the state documents.
