Conformance to Regulatory Guide 1.97 Your letter of November 25,1985 (Reference 3) provided the results of a review by NRC's contractor EG8G Idaho of TMI-l compliance with Regulatory Guide 1.97, based on information provided by GPU Nuclear Corporation (GPUN) in our October 1,1984 submittal (Peference 1).
In response to your request for information and conmnt, GPUN intends to provide an update of our previous submittals (References 1 and 2) discussing THI-1 compliance with the specific provisions of Regulatory Guide 1.97.
This update will consist of a newly formatted table which identifies for each parameter the appropriate category, and TMI-l compliance with specific provisions of Regulatory Guide 1.97 for that category.
Where the TMI-l categorization differs from that suggested in Regulatory Guide 1.97, justification will be provided. The table will either provide a justification where a difference exists or a schedule for upgrade.
Our update will also reflect the completion of some of the modifications proposed in our October 1, 1984 submittal.
In accordance with our submittal schedule developed during our monthly meetings with NRC Licensing personnel, GPUN wil' "rovide a response to your request including our updated assessment of T compliance with Regulatory Guide 1.97 by May 15,1986.
