l This letter confirms the upcoming Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection of Allied Group, on March 19-20,1998, as discussed during a February 17,1998 telephone conversation between yourself and Mr. Gregory Cwalina of this office.
The inspection will review selected portions of your quality assurance program, and its

implementation, as it relates to the supply of safety related fasteners to the nuclear industry.
Thie inspection will specifically review activities related to the supply of phenolic graphite coated fasteners to the Public Service Electric and Gas Company. We expect to conduct an entrance meeting at your offices at 8:30 em on March 19th.
Your cooperation in providing the support needed to complete the scope of our inspection is appreciated. Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Mr. Cwalina at (301) 415-2983.
