As required by the Big Rock Point Operating License, this letter provides the twenty-eighth pdate of the Big Rock Point Integrated Plan. There have oeen no changes to the Integrated Plan since the last update. On August 28, 1997, Semi-Annual Update Number 27 was forwarded to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The letter stated that the twenty-seventh update would also be the final update of the Integrated Plan because Consumers Energy Company had decided to cease permanent operation of the facility, and that a change to the Operating License, along with the Technical Specifications was being prepared to delete the Integrated Plan to reflect a defueled plant configuration. Currently, the Operating License and Technical Specifications for the defueled configuration are being reviewed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
