the handout provided by Portland General Electric. Several pages containing safeguards j
material have been removed from the handout attachment.

The Protected Area is totally within the Industrial Area.

- The area of the Spent Fuel Pool 93' level inside the chain-link fence, Fuel Building and Containment walls. The Protected Area will also include the Spent Fuel Pool concrete walls from the 45' level to the 93' level. The Protected Area is totally within the Industrial Area.

PROTECTED AREA ACCESS CONTROLS Current
- Security background screening (10 CFR 73.56 and 73.57) and Fitness for Duty testing (10 CFR 26).
- Normal access is card reader controlled on the 45' between the Control Building and the Auxiliary Building.
- Individual passes through an explosive monitor and metal detector and hand carried items are x-rayed. Compensatory measures permit " hands-on" searches.
- Individual exchanges Industrial Area key card for Protected Area key card.
