Dear Mr. Webb,

This letter is to follow-up on my request to NRC that I conveyed to you by telephone last week. - Specifically, I requested that NRC meet with the Maine Advisory Committee on Radiation on the evening ofNovember 4 to provide information and answer questions to the Committee on the recent exemptions granted to Maine Yankee on their emergency plan. I anticipate the Committee would like NRC to respond to analyses supporting the exemptions and NRC's evaluation of Maine Yankee's defueled emergency plan.

At this evening public meeting, I expect that the Committee will receive a half-hour

. presentation from Maine Yankee on their current emergency plan follov,ed by a half-hour presentation from the NRC. After the presentations I anticipate the Committee will enter into discussions with questions to Maine Yankee and NRC, and then receive questions / comments from the public. When the final agenda for the Committee meeting of November 4 is available I will forward it to you.

~ I appreciate the many times NRC has come to Maine to speak with State entities and the public on important matters concerning Maine Yankee. Please call me at 207-287-8936 should you have any questions, and as more information concerning the details of this meeting are finalized I will provide them to you.
