- 1. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commistion) has fcund that:
A. The application for amendment by Baltimore Gaa and Electric Compaisy (the licensee) dated May 16,1997 as supplemented November 14,1997, complies with thw standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 19f.4, as amended (the Act) and the Commission's rules and regulations set forth in 10 CFR Chapter I; B. The fadl;ty will operato in conformity with the appliev. ion, the provisions of the Act, and the rules and regulations of the Comrnission; C. There is reasonable assurance (i) that the activities authorized by this amendment can be conducted without endangering thti health aid safety of the puNic, and (ii) that such activities will be conducted in compliance with the Commission's regulations; D. The issuance of this amendment will not be inimical to the common defense and security or to the health and safety of the public; and E. The issuance of this amendment is in acco.... m with 10 CFR Part 51 of the Commission's regulations and all applicable rk, monts ha've been satisfied.
- 2. Accordingly, the license is amended to authorize tuvision of the Updated Fmal Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) as set forth in the application for amendment by the licensee, dated May 16, 1997, as supplemented Noven.ber 14,1997. e 2-exchangers, including salt water strainers with an automatic flushing arrangement that will be installed upstream of each best exchanger and the installation of additional control valves.
However, the licensee is not authorized to operate with one Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger secured, and removing one Containment Air Cooler from service to enable the affected subsystem to remain operable while the one Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger is secured.
- 3. This license amendment is effective as of the date ofits issuance to be implemented during the Calvert Cliffs Unit No.1 sprinD 1998 refueling outag.
