Request for Additional Information Regarding Missile Protection 410.313 To support the staff's review of SSAR Section 3.5.1.1, regarding internally generated missiles (outside containment), please previde the following information:

(a)

Discuss the possibility of safety relief valves becoming internally generated missile outside containment.

(b)

Provide an assessment of the potential missiles that could be generated outside the containment from piping systems and associated monitoring eculpment, such as temperature probe, flow mcasurement devices, pressure gauges, vessel monitoring devices, etc.

410.314 In SSAR Section 3.5.1.1, provide an asscssment of the potential gravitational missiles generated outside the containment, and a review of nonsafety-related SSC protected from internally generated missiles if thair failure by a missile impact could prevent a required safety function of a safety-related SSC.

4i0.315 In SSAR Section 3.S.I.2, regarding internally generated missiles inside containment, pre"'da information on kinetic energy of poten-tial missiles generat.

.y system components and equipment inside the containment, such as reactor vessel closure head nut and stud, pressurizer safety 'alve flange bolt, RCP temperature nozzle and thermowell, etc.

410.316 In SSAR Section 3.5.1.4, regarding missiles generated by natural pher.omena, the details and references for the tornado-missile analysis were not identified. Discuss the compliance of the analy-sts with Regtlatory Guides (RG) 1.76, l..'17; and list all the postulated missiles as required by Secticn 3.5.1.4 of the SRP.

410.317 In SSAk Section 3.5.2, regarding protection from externally generated missiles, discuss the compliance of SSAR Section 3.5.2 with the guidanca of RG 1.13; RG 1.27 position C.2 and C.3; RG 1.115 position C.1; RG 1.117 positions C.1, C.2, and C.3.

410.318 In SSAR Section 3.5.2, identify structures, systems, and components that shall be protected from externally generated missiles.
