Report for Period of July 1,1997, - December 31, 1997 TEST REStt!.75 WCNOC employees No WCNOC employees tested positive during this period.
Contractors i
Three contractors tested positive for marijuana, and two contractors tested positive for amphetamines /methamphetamines during pre-access testing.
These contractors were denied Access.
One contractor tested positive for marijuana, cocaine, and alcohol during for-cause l
testing.
This contractor's access was revoked, and his employrent at WCNOC was terminated.
FITNESS FOR DUTY PROGRAM CHANGES Enhancements were made to the alcohol screentng program by the purchase of four new dry gas intoxilyzers.
These new intoxilyzers have additional capabilities over the previous intoxilyzers used.
In addition to the purchase of these intoxilyzers, software enhancements were made to the two existing intoxilyzers.
EVENTS REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH 10 CFR 26.73 A potential reportability concern per 10CTR73.71 was identified during this period in which a contractor's unescorted access, was indeterminate due to information received i -
following termination at WCNOC.
Performance improvement Request 97-2909 was written to address this concern.
Subsequent investigation determined that granting of initial unescorted access was appropriate.- This was not a reportable event.
