PETITION PURSUANT TO 10 CFR 2.206, PERRV NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
Dear Mr. Fretz:
In response to the letter dated December 16,1998, from Mr. Samuel J. Collins, I am notifying you that the Union of Concerned Scientists accepts the offer of a combined informal public hearing into the concerns raised in our 2.206 petition and the related petition involving the River Bend Station. I reiterate the position I conveys 1in our recent telephone conversation that UCS will be glad to. attend a hearing here in the DC area or in the northern Ohio area.
I request, pursuant to the Freedom ofInformation Act, a copy of the NRC staff's " preliminary evaluation to determine if an urgent safety issues was involved." This evaluation is referenced in the December 16, 1998, letter to UCS.
