SUBJECT:
MEETING WITH REDZONE ROBOTICS AND CONCURRENT TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION On January 14,1998, NRC staff from the Division of Waste Management met with Messrs. Peter Kruse of RedZone Robotics, Inc., and Edgar Berkey and Dardel DeVos of Concurrent Technologies Corporation. Copies of their briefing materials are attached.
Redzone Robotics designs remote handling equipment which is used to retrieve and process radioactive and chemical wastes from contaminated wasta sites. The NRC staff is considenng the advantages of using such equipment in remediation activities at decommissioning sites.
Messrs. Berkey and DeVos discussed their company's experience as an inde;>endent reviewer of remediation projects, including their experience at the decommissioning of a nuclear fuel fabrication facility in Apollo, Pennsylvania.
