gentlemen and welcome to our affirmation session this 5
morning.
6 We have one item to come before the Commission 7
this morning.
Before I ask the Secretary to lead us through 8
the item for affirmation, do any of my colleagues have any 9
comments they wish to make?

13 MS. VIETTI-COOK:
The Commission is being asked to 14-act on a direct final rule amending 10 CFR 50.54 (a) to
(_,-
15 permit power reactor licensees to make quality assurance 16 program changes without obtLining NRC approval of these 17 changes in advance.
The rule allows licensees to make 18 routine or administrative changes that should not have an 19 adverse impact on the effectiveness of their QA programs.
20 This action is intended to reduce the financial 21 and administrative burden on power reactor licensees without 22 adversely impacting public health and safety.
23 The Commission has voted to approve the 24 publication and implementation of this final rule.
