Enclosed for your information is a copy of a petition for rulemaking (PRM-40-26) requesting that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) amend 10 CFR Part 40. The petition was filed with tile NRC by Chromalloy Tallahassee.

The petition requests that the NRC ameno i's licensing exemptions to establish an exemntion from liceasing requirements to include the M1A1 Battle Tank Engine AGT 1500, which contains nickel-thorium.

Also enclosed is a ecpy of the Federal Register notice that contains additional information conceming the petition. The notice will be publisheci requesting public comment for a 75-day period.
