Docket Nos. 50-546-OL, 50-547-OL

Dear Sirs:

On behalf of Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc.,

I am submitting herewith a pleading in response to the Licensing Board's Memorandum and Order Directing Briefs served on June 2, 1986. This response is being submitted one day late pursuant to a telephone conversation with Chairman Smith on June 27, in which he authorized a late filing based upon the unavoidable absence of all the attorneys working on this matter on Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1.

On June 20, we received from the Licensing Board a copy of the June 11 letter submitted by the Indiana Sassafras Audubon Society. On June 30, we received from our client a copy of a motion served by Save The Valley, Inc., on June 26.

Neither of those pleadings was served on us. We believe that our enclosed response adequately addresses those pleadings, as well as the Licensing Board's order served on June 2. In the event that further responses are served by those intervenors, or any other party, we may seek leave to reply to them.

Very truly yours, ,
