SECURITY PERSONNEL TRAINING AND QUAllFICATION PLAN CHANGE, REVISION 4A; SAFEGUARDS CONTINGENCY PLAN CHANGE, REVISION 2A

Dear Mr. Cottle:

This letter acknowledges receipt of your letters dated January 12,1998, which transmitted changes to the security personnel training and qualification plan and the security contingency plan for the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station.

Based on your determination that the changes do not decrease the commitments of your training pbn and the security contingency plan and after limited review of the changes, no NRC approval is required in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p). Implementation of these changes will be subject to inspection to confirm that the changes have not decreased the c nsrall effectiveness of your training and contingency plans.

In accordance with-10 CFR 2.750 of the Commission's regulat.'ons, a copy of this letter, with the enclosures, will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
