TOPICAL REPORT "RODEX2A (BWR) FUEL ROD THERMAL MECHANICAL EVALUATION MODEL: FUEL ASSEMBLY EXPOSURE EVALUATION,"

EMF 85 74(P), REVISION 0, REVIEW STATUS (TAC NO. M06726)

Dear Mr. Curet:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the r ,iew status of the subject topical report, including Supplement 1 and 2 that Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) rubmitted in September,1996 and August,1997, respectively. The topical report requests NRC approval for rod average burnup of 62 Gwd/MTU for BWR fuei c;esign and assembly-average bumups of 54 Gwd/MTU for ATRIUM

  • 9 and 10 fuel designs. Currently, the technical evaluation report (TER) has been completed and the safety evaluation report (SER) is in the concurrence process. As of today, the following staff has concurred in this SER: '

the technical reviewer (Reactor Systems Branch), the Section chief (Reactor Systems Branch), and the Branch Chief, Reactor Systems Brench.

Please note that this SER is still subject to additional changes and requires a Committee To Review Generic Requirements (CRGR) waiver to be approved by the Associate Director for Technical Paview before the SER can be officially issued. The next step in this process is to obtain the concurrences from the Division Director of Systems Safety and Analysis and the Associate Director for Technical Review.
