NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-282/97018(DRP); 50 306/97018(DRP) FOR
PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT

Dear Mr. Wadley:
On October 21,1997, the NRC completed an inspection at your Prairie Island Nuclear
Generating Plant. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During the 6-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities at the
Prairie Island facility was generally conservative and safe. Operators performed two reactor
,
shutdowns and one startup in a orderly manner with no significant problems. Only minor
'
problems were noted in other activities.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.700 of the NRC's * Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
