AmerGen Energy Company, LLC (AmerGen) and GPU Nuclear, Inc. (GPUN), acting for itself and on behalforMetropolitan Edison Company (Met-Ed), Jersey Central Power & Light Company (JCP&L), and Pennsylvania Electric Company (Penelec), submit this supplemental information in support of their application dated December 3,1998 requesting NRC consent to the proposed license transfer and approval of confomling administrative license amendments. The applicants are requesting NRC consent to the transfer of Facility Operating License No. DPR-50 for Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI-1) to AmerGen. AmerGen and GPUN's response to NRC's Request for Additional Information (TAC No. MA3307)is provided as Attachment 1. In addition, AmerGen and GPUN are submitting as a revised calculation of the NRC's formula amount for financial assurance decommissioning funding, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.75(c). Attachment 3 is a revised version of Appendix DR (confidential information redacted) to the December 3,1998 application, which is suitable for public disclosure. The calculation provided in Attachment 2 replaces the earlier calculation submitted as Exhibit 10 to Appendix A of the December 3,1998 application. Recently, the NRC released Revision 8 to NUREG-1307, which revises the values to be used in the formula with respect to the Burial factor relating to low level waste disposal. Based upon this revision, the NRC formula amount for TMI-l should be calculated using 7.173 as the Burial factor in the calculatien. Therefore, provides a calculation using this revised number. The license transfer application requested confidential treatment for designated information in this document, which was also reflected in the redacted version provided as Appendix DR. The enclosed separately bound Attachment 3 provides a revised redacted version of Appendix DR, which permits further information to be disclosed to the public. The information for which AmerGen and GPUN continue to assert their request for confidential treatment has been redacted from this revised Appendix DR, and this document is suitable for public disclosure. AmerGen and GPUN request that the NRC continue to maintain the confidential treatment of Appendix D (unredacted), as previously requested. As a result oflogistical constraints, the signature pages and Affirmations in this submittal are facsimile copies. The original pages will be submitted on a timely basis.
