In response to your telephone request of January 23,1998, enclosed is a copy of the Licensee's preliminary root cause analysis report for the piping leaks discovered in the *B" train of the residual heat removal (RHR) system at the Seabrook Station, Unit 1. The leakage was reported by the Licensee on December 5,1997, The report is being provided pursuant to your Petition dated, December 18,1997, to suspend the operating license of the Seabrook Station until such time as an analysis of the cause of the RHR piping leaks it, conducted._ For other interested parties, a copy of the report is available at the local public document room located at the Exeter Public Library, Founders Park, Exeter, NH 03833.
