Dear Mr. Berkow:
The Reed Reactor Facility has implemented its Emergency Plan effective 17 June 1986. Emergency Implementation Procedures were approved by the Reactor Safety and Reactor Operating Committees. Training of operators in the new Eplan and Emergency Implementation Procedures is part of the requalification pmgram for this year. Training of new' operators has been completed, and the new Eplan was used by NRC examiners for Operator Licensing Examinations in May,1986. Training with offsite organizations is in process; an exercise with the Portland Fire Bureau was held on May 12.
Further activities required by the Eplan will be under the review and audit of the Reed Reactor Facility's Reactor Safety Committee. Ifyou have any questions, please contact me at (503)-771-1112 ext 205.
